It is easy to hear Stapleton’s musical influences ranging from outlaw country, bluegrass, rock & roll and blues in his songs and delivery. With his vocal combined with thoughtful songwriting, the hard-work he has put in has paid off with too many award wins and nominations to list. With his recent Super Bowl LVII performance he has certainly captured America’s attention and beyond.
Born in Lexington, Kentucky in April of 1978, Stapleton actually grew up in Staffordsville, Kentucky. Moving to Nashville to pursue a an engineering degree in 2001, Stapleton soon signed on with Sea Gayle Music to write and publish his music.
His native Staffordsville is located in Johnson County which is eastern Kentucky. With an elevation of 669 feet, the town was originally named “Frew” and in 1893 postmistress changed the name to “Staffordsville” to honor her family.
